It’s about time I made something new!

This week I started this spring wreath using the stunning single twist cord in Mint from @bilibagfactory and a pink flower pick from @therangeuk

Finished today whilst working at @mrsicrafts and I’m so happy with how it’s turned out! So bright and vibrant and ready for your spring decor.

This is a thank you to you all really.

I don’t really like sharing my journey with mental health, I always think I’m going to be judged or criticised. But it’s always been completely the opposite and thank you all for your support and kind words.

I was in a support group yesterday and someone brought up needing a scaffolding around us to hold us up, and I thought that’s what the support on here does for me 🫶🏻

It’s a battle everyday, but today is a good day and I’m so thankful. I’m going to get myself moving, get out of the house and surround myself with friends and make some lovely macrame!

And breathe…

Wow, I have been stuck in a horrible rut this last month or so. No idea why, it’s just riding the rollercoaster that is my mental health!

It’s so subtle sometimes that I don’t notice until I’m in the thick of it. Suddenly I’ve isolated myself from everyone and I’m sleeping loads and feeling lost.

Today I decided to break out of it a bit and went for breakfast with my friends, then got home and started a new macrame project. It felt wonderful and I feel so much better for it. I know it helps, which is why it’s so frustrating that I get stuck and can’t do it! The brain is a funny old thing isn’t it.

Anyway! I’m working on a little spring wreath today. Something I’ve been planning on doing for months. Starting small to get me back into the groove again.

Spend a minute knotting with me!

I was working on a macrame place mat and going round in circles using the double half hitch knots. I love making these because the repetitive knotting gets me into an almost meditative state and is deeply mindful and relaxing.

When these knots become muscle memory in your hands you don’t even have to think about what you are doing and just let your hands take over.

Macrame Curtain ❤️

This has been a real labour of love; a year in the making and totally worth every knot.

To say I’m obsessed with this is a complete understatement. I’m so in love!

I started this piece back in January 2025 when I was in @142artgallery using 3mm twisted cord in Vanilla from @bilibagfactory. I quickly realised I was going to need a lot more cord than I realised; 110 cords later I realised this wasn’t going to be a quick make! 1760 meters of cord was cut for this piece in total 😳

I still need to find somewhere to hang it so I can get a full length picture but this will have to do for now! My largest piece to date is complete and I’m definitely chomping at the bit to make bigger projects. This is what I feel I’m meant to do, this is my calling as an artist and I can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring.

On this day last year I started creating my first really large macrame piece!

My plan was to make a macrame curtain double the size it is now, however I did not realised how long it would take to measure and cut the string 😂 once this realisation set in I quickly changed my plan to the size the curtain is now.

I went rogue and didn’t even design my pattern first, I just made it up as I went along and thankfully it’s paid off.

I am so so proud of this piece, and I will get some better photos of it soon, however I need to find somewhere big enough to fit it, which can be quite tricky at home with lots of children’s toys all over the place!

May this be the start of a great year full of bigger projects.

Do you love macrame?!

You might have noticed that I really, REALLY love macrame! And one of the main reasons for my love of macrame is down to @_twome

I found her completely by chance and she’s really opened my world up to so much joy through creation and mindfulness. I attended her first ever macrame retreat back in 2023 and it deepened my love for the craft even more. Such a beautiful experience.

Isabella ran her second retreat last year in Saville, Spain and unfortunately I was unable to attend. This year she’s holding it in Saville again and I AM GOING!!!!!!!

I am SO excited! I’ve been scrolling back through pictures and videos of the 2023 retreat and thought I would make this video. I can’t wait to spend 5 days in the sun, enjoying my favourite craft and meeting like minded women. There are still spaces available if you want to join me?

This curtain is nearly a year in the making now!! And I’m so close to finishing….

I started this macrame curtain back in January 2024 when I spent the week at @142artgallery and I had big plans to make a massive double curtain. This plan quickly changed whist measuring and cutting the cord I needed and I had a massive realisation of how much work it was going to take! So the project quickly shrunk down to a smaller single door sized curtain.

It’s been taken down and put again so many times, I have to keep untangling it every time 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s definitely been a learning curve for me, but I’ve adored making it and getting my teeth into a bigger project.

It’s the one project I really want to finish so it’s off my rail and I can celebrate as one of my biggest projects! It’s taught me a lot, but definitely not put me off trying newer and bigger projects in the future!

I’m really missing the sea!

It’s been probably nearly 6 months or so since I’ve been in and I can feel the effects on my mental health because of it. There’s no real reason why either, it’s just something that’s slipped out of my routine.

First workshop of 2025 and we’re going back to basics and making some macrame plant hangers.

This is the first ever project I made out of macrame and it’s always one of my favourites.

Macrame to the path to true happiness!

Well that’s certainly true for me anyway!

For me personally, macrame is my mindfulness, it’s my way to slow down, breathe and take care of my mind. It brings me pleasure and joy and there is intention with every knot.

I’ve never stuck at something for so long, so I am incredibly proud to call my hobby a business. I am excited to see what 2025 will bring.

First completed project for 2025!

I actually started this last year and finally finished it today and I am so so proud of this one.

My lovely customer reached out to me with an inspiration picture and asked me to create a very special wall hanging as a tribute to a beloved family member which included sunflowers and an agate crystal.

I’m so proud she trusted me with this special piece and I think this could well be one of my favourite ever creations.

I was asked to include a crystal on the piece and she chose flower agate which properties bring nurturing, transformation and abundance.

I love this so much, I might have to make another one!

Last Friday I had the absolute pleasure of running a Christmas macrame workshop at @ejartcreative

I meet the loveliest group of ladies and we all had so much fun make Christmas gonks and Christmas bauble ornaments.

Some ladies had so much fun making the gonks that we ran out of time to make the bauble ornaments so I promised I would make a video and send it to them so they didn’t miss out!

Good morning and happy Monday!

Its finally December and time to get festive 🎄

I absolutely love this time of year, so much happiness and joy. I had the Felixstowe Craft market on Saturday and it was brilliant. My best ever sales and I sold out of quite a few items so if you came to see me or purchased from me I thank you so much. I felt quite emotional by the end of the day and couldn’t quite believe it!!

I only have one more event left which is at @ejartcreative on 13th December for their Creative Escape where we will be making lots of lovely macrame Christmas trees.

But after that I am done!! Whilst I love December and Christmas, I also find it very stressful and overwhelming so this year I’m slowing down and trying to remain present in the moment.

I thought today I would share a picture of some cute little macrame Christmas trees I made a few years ago, aren’t they sweet! I still have a couple left so these will be going on my shelf at @mrsicrafts later in the week.

Tomorrow’s the big day!

Felixstowe Christmas Market is open from 10am tomorrow until 6pm with the Christmas lights being turned on at 5pm.

I will be outside Boots alongside Mrs I Crafts and this will be the only event I am attending this year so if you want to see my Christmas macrame goodies this is your only chance!
